Story[]

The Lone Ranger (2013) -[]

Captain Fuller and The United States Cavalry

The Comanche Onslaught

After Latham Cole makes an announcement about the ongoing Indian situation to a group of journalists and reporters, Captain Fuller and his cavalry team arrive, who have been called in to deal with the supposed Comanche problem. Fuller gets acquainted with Cole then the cavalry, including Fuller, prepare for the onslaught/raid on the Comanche. Fuller then proceeds to go on a large killing spree, murdering several Comanche and destroying many Comanche dwellings in his path, under the impression that the Comanche had slaughtered many innocent civilians.

Hours later, Fuller and his cavalry reunite with Cole, celebrating their "success" on The Constitution; a steam locomotive. Cole congratulates Fuller for his work and his methods of dealing with the Comanche and the two men toast to their accomplishment. Fuller becomes acquainted with Rebecca Reid and Danny Reid Jr.

Fuller and associates have a peaceful dinner after praying however it is abruptly interrupted when The Lone Ranger arrives with notorious outlaw: Butch Cavendish. Cole goes to investigate the matter while Fuller accompanies him. They seemingly arrest Cavendish and take him into custody. Fuller leaves for elsewhere, still remaining on The Constitution after it departs.

Discovering the Corruption of Latham Cole

The Truth Is Revealed

While The Constitution is making its way to an undisclosed destination, Fuller enters the supply cart of the train, unintentionally disrupting a dispute between Cole, Cavendish and The Lone Ranger. The three men hold each other at gunpoint with Fuller confused at the situation. He then discovers the truth behind his actions and work, learning of Cole's true intentions and plans. Afraid of the consequences and punishments he could face because of his actions, he hesitantly sides with Cole and Cavendish, becoming corrupt. They arrest The Lone Ranger and prepare him for execution by The Firing Squad.

Fuller and The Firing Line Shooting The Commanche

The Firing Line

The Lone Ranger is prepared for execution with Fuller leading The Firing Squad however it is interrupted when Tonto distracts and confuses them. Tonto rescues The Lone Ranger while the Comanche launch an attack, firing arrows from afar. This causes a large commotion and panic amongst everyone. Fuller orders his troops during the event, witnessing the Comanche advance and storm towards them on horses. He swiftly leads a firing line in an effort to stop the advancing Comanche, succeeding as they easily mow down the Comanche with their Gatling guns and advanced weaponry. As the last of the Comanche are slaughtered, the sole survivor sneaks up to Fuller as he fidgets with his gun but Fuller is fast to react and promptly kills him with his sword/sabre. Fuller once again is forced to confront his actions and views the carnage that has transpired. He reluctantly presses forward, continuing to side with Cole and Cavendish.

Fuller at The Ceremony

Fuller at The Railroad Ceremony

The next day, Fuller, alongside the remaining cavalry officers/soldiers, attend the Railroad Ceremony acting as security for both trains: The Jupiter and The Constitution. He and another cavalry officer go to inspect the undercarriage of The Constitution but are distracted when Red Harrington appears. Harrington diverts Fuller's attention with her ivory leg which amazes and dazes Fuller. Harrington allows Fuller to touch her ivory leg while Tonto hijacks The Constitution. She manage to distract everyone when she explodes a cart full of explosives with her leg as the train begins to move along the tracks. Fuller, among other cavalry soldiers, climb onto the moving train and attempt to reach the engine of the train but are halted when The Lone Ranger appears, beginning the final conflict between them all. Cole and Cavendish soon pursue on The Jupiter.

Fuller Preparing to Shoot Tonto on The Roof

Preparing to shoot Tonto on the roof of The Constitution

During the fight, Fuller detaches the cart of silver from the train while being shot at by The Lone Ranger on the adjacent train. He yells towards Cole and Cavendish, pointing towards the enemy behind them. He makes his way back towards the carriages of the train, encountering Reid Jr unarmed. He notices Tonto on the roof of the train and brings out his dual revolvers. He starts shooting the roof of the train, attempting to kill him however is interrupted when Reid Jr fires grapes at him with his slingshot. He points his weapons at the boy, about to kill him but The Lone Ranger initiates a gun fight between the two from The Jupiter. The Lone Ranger starts shooting at Fuller with the latter returning fire until he is knocked unconscious by Tonto with a shovel when he tries to leave the train. He awakens later, immediately departing from the train, leaning on the rails and a tissue towards his bleeding nose. He notices a bucket moving to the side and jumps towards it, hanging off of it as he grabs onto it. He is thrusted into the window of the train before he starts to fall out of the window but manages to return inside the safety of the train, now in a current state of panic.

The Fateful Jump

Fuller leaps off of The Constitution, leading to his unknown fate

Some time passes and Fuller departs from the train once again, unaware of the fate that was about to befall him. He draws his sword/sabre while donning a determined, furious expression. He immediately becomes dismayed and terrified when he sees that his train is advancing down a one way train track, about to collide and crash with a boxcar, containing Cavendish. The two men briefly stare at each other, realising their fates. He attempts to open the door behind him but is unsuccessful. The train is mere moments from crashing so in a last ditch effort to survive, he leaps off from the train, screaming in terror.

Fate[]

Fuller's penultimate fate after this incident is unknown as there is evidence to support that he was either killed or had possibly survived. However, it is heavily implied that he was killed in the incident since the aforementioned event above is the last time we see Fuller. When he leaped off from the train, he could of possibly survived, sustaining heavy injuries although whether or not he searched for civilisation or was killed later is unknown.

Fuller was possibly killed in this scene where he was immediately killed upon impacting the boxcar since he had leaped off from a train that was going at high speeds, unintentionally killing himself.

Physical Description (Appearance)[]

Captain Jay Fuller is a white Caucasian male of average height and a medium build. He possesses blue eyes and blonde long hair. This is accompanied with a blonde moustache and blonde beard to perfect the appearance.

Throughout the film, Fuller is only seen in his signature blue cavalry uniform which contains a pair of dark navy blue pants, a dark navy blue jacket with gold buttons and epaulettes. This is accompanied with a white shirt underneath the jacket with its collar reaching the neck of the jacket. He wears black boots and is often seen with a pair of white gloves, which are occasionally taken off during certain points of the film. At times, he will be seen wearing his signature cavalry hat. Additionally, he wears a ring on his pinky finger, a golden belt and a dark red ribbon wrapped around his waist. He uses his silver sword/sabre and dual revolvers as his weapons of choice.

During the final conflict, Fuller is seen with a broken, bleeding nose and messy, unkempt hair.

Personality[]

As a cavalry captain, he is shown to be extremely loyal to the United States of America and its principles, expressing his loyalty and dedication when he attacks the Comanche in the movie. He remains faithful and true to his occupation and ideals. Fuller is orderly and tactical, using his military tactics and intelligence against the Comanche to wipe them out with ease. He is cooperative and respectful towards authority and allies like Latham Cole and Rebecca Reid as shown in their brief meeting aboard The Constitution. He is authoritative and imposing towards his officers/soldiers, able to command them with little to no struggle.

Before becoming corrupt, he is hesitant and reluctant when siding with the wrong side of the law such as Cole and Cavendish. His demeanor immediately changes from his intimidatingly attitude to an afraid and anxious one after realising what he has done and the corruption involved in the situation.

Becoming corrupt, his attitude and manner changes, accepting that he is now corrupt and a perpetrator of mass murder although he chooses to both side and aid Cole to avoid the punishments of his actions. Although he is corrupt, he maintains a calm and relaxed temper throughout the rest of the film with the exception of a few scenes. In the final train battle/fight, his anger and determination shows when attempting to kill both Tonto and The Lone Ranger doing whatever is necessary to eradicate either of them however it is short lived since he indirectly killed by the latter.

Relationships[]

Latham Cole:[]

Before becoming Cole's unwilling ally, they were known to had a professional and respectful relationship towards each other as seen in the few scenes before Fuller's corruption. They maintained a balanced regard and admiration of one another with both men appreciating the work of each other. Fuller kept a professional attitude to Cole at all times.

Fuller eventually becomes the ally of Cole after discovering Cole's true intentions behind the slaughter of The Comanche and related incidents but the same level of professionalism is kept towards one another with Fuller being responsible for security as seen at The Railroad Ceremony. Aside from this, the majority of their relationship is unknown.

Butch Cavendish:[]

The overall relationship between Fuller and Cavendish is kept unknown and ambiguous to the viewer but the two became allies after Fuller sided with Cole and himself. The two rarely interacted with each other, being busy with their respective tasks however the two were allies so fought on the same side as one another especially during the final train battle. The two were involved in the same related train crash, seeing each other in their final moments.

The Lone Ranger (John Reid):[]

The relationship between these two seems to indicate a sort of rivalry between each other as we can see in certain scenes of the movie. At first, the two become briefly acquainted at Cavendish's "arrest" but soon turns into an rivalry when the two are on opposing sides. Fuller is responsible for the execution of Reid but fails as the latter is saved by Tonto. Fuller has shown he has a certain distaste and high aggression against Reid as shown in the gun fight on both The Jupiter and The Constitution trains.

Despite Fuller's best efforts in killing Reid, he ultimately fails when he presumably killed, ending the rivalry between the two once and for all.

Rebecca Reid:[]

In the first meeting between Reid and Fuller, the latter kept a polite and considerate behaviour towards Reid and her thoughts especially about the supposed deceased rangers. After this brief acquaintance, they rarely interact with each other throughout the rest of the film.

Red Harrington:[]

The two have a minor relationship with each other with Fuller meeting Harrington at The Railroad Ceremony when she uses her ivory leg to divert his attention from Tonto hiding underneath the undercarriage of The Constitution. Harrington had only ever interacted with the captain to aid in Tonto's and The Lone Ranger's plan. Because of this, their relationship is extremely minor and insignificant.
