The Lone Ranger's original horse was a chesnut mare named [[Dusty]], who was shot and killed by Butch Cavendish as he and Tonto were pusuing. After Dusty's death, the Ranger and Tonto proceeded to Wild Horse Canyon and happened upon Silver.
